Dynamic Eating Psychology: Stop Shoving Your Face with Cookies

I am glad you are here! I have been expecting you!

I am going to assume that despite all of your years of dieting, you still struggle with food and weight, yes? (otherwise you wouldn’t have found yourself here reading this article on Dynamic Eating Psychology!). Wouldn’t you agree then that learning MORE about nutrition such as macros, carbs, proteins, superfoods, or cutting your favorite foods or food groups obviously isn’t stopping you from going all in on those cookies and ultimately sabotaging your mind and your efforts? You’ve been there done that a thousand times!

Here is a truth bomb: Experts can barely find evidence to support that dieting even leads to long term weight loss or health benefits. What?! With an estimated 108 million people on a diet at any given time, wouldn’t you think there would be plenty of clinical evidence to support the billion dollar diet industry’s approaches? Wishful thinking – too much money at stake to do what is right. I also find it heart wrenching that with the epidemic rising in weight loss attempts mirrors rising obesity rates. Something is obviously wrong.

Evidence DOES show that 96-99% of those who diet literally gain the weight back within one year. Evidence also shows the more you diet the more weight you are likely to continue to regain due to physiological shifts you experience during short and long periods of dieting. These kinds of statics frustrate me beyond belief because it just shows that what is being put out into the public to improve eating habits and health is trash!

So how do you break this insane weight and diet cycling?

Say Hello to My Little Friend...Dynamic Eating Psychology

Dynamic Eating Psychology is one of the unique, effective, and powerful means that myself and my team of Certified Mind Body Eating Coaches passionately use to help our clients in their journey to diet freedom….

What Exactly is Dynamic Eating Psychology?

Dynamic Eating Psychology is an important new field that is positive, empowering, and transformational and designed for anyone who eats.

Basically, each of us has a unique, fascinating, and ever changing relationship with food. Dynamic Eating Psychology affirms the primary importance of this relationship. It sees our challenges with eating, weight, and health not as an indication that we’re broken, but as a beautiful opportunity to grow and evolve.

Previously, eating psychology has been limited to those with clinical eating disorders. Dynamic Eating Psychology, though, is for everyone. It affirms that our relationship with food has important lessons to teach us if we choose to listen. And it recognizes that our challenges with eating, weight, and health are intimately connected to other primary life dimensions – relationship, family, work, sexuality, our search for meaning and fulfillment, and so much more.

Could your binge eating in the evenings be a symptom for the need to slow down in your life? To reconnect in your relationships? Possibly!

Meet My Other Friend...Mind Body Nutrition

Mind-Body Nutrition is another exciting and timely new field myself and my team use that advances the practice of clinical nutrition by exploring the psychophysiology of how thoughts, feelings and beliefs impact nutritional metabolism and health. It too is an exciting and cutting edge approach that effectively addresses weight concerns, binge eating, overeating, body image challenges, and various nutrition related health concerns.

Originated by Marc David, Founder of the internationally acclaimed Institute for the Psychology of Eating, it goes far beyond classical nutrition by focusing on the fascinating connections between brain, body, and behavior.

Simply put, what we eat is only half of the story of good nutrition.

The other half is who we are as eaters. Mind Body Nutrition reveals how stress physiology, the relaxation response, breathing, awareness, pleasure, meal timing, and much more profoundly influence digestion and calorie burning. And it offers practical and results-oriented strategies for the most commonly seen eating challenges and health issues of our times.

Mind Body Nutrition coaching allows us to not see eating challenges merely as a sign that “something is wrong with you” – but as a place where we can more fully explore some of the personal dimensions in life that impact food, weight and health.

Could your binge eating on cookies be because of the stories you tell yourself about yourself that don’t serve you? Or could your anxiety be interrupting your eating experience, causing your brain to not get the message that you actually ate and nourished your body, leading you to crave more food? Possibly!

These are not woo woo either – they are research-based, results-driven tools and techniques that have helped millions of people around the world break free from eating concerns and live the life they came here to live.

For far too long, we’ve all been inundated by negative and confusing messages about food, weight and diet. We’ve been told that we’re willpower weaklings or that we need more control. And that’s just not the case! I am sure you have demonstrate quite the control and discipline over the years with all the revolving dieting plans.
This is why people are confused about what to eat and how to have a happy relationship with food and a healthy metabolism. By eliminating all the “should’s and shouldn’ts” and embracing Dynamic Eating Psychology and Mind Body Nutrition, we can tune inward and focus on truly restoring food to a more natural, nourishing role again. When we work together in this way, eating and health issues become a place of exploration. Instead of seeing such challenges as the enemy, they become opportunities for growth and self-improvement.
